Young girls ages 16-21 are encouraged to apply for the prestigious Boone County Fair Queen Competition. The Fair Queen and Princess represent the Fair at several events.
Is your young one royalty? kids ages 5-8 who reside in Boone County are encouraged to participate in the Little Miss & Mr. Boone County Fair Contest. 
Join in the fun at the annual Mud Volleyball Tournament at the fair. Co-Ed teams will compete for bragging rights and cash prizes.

The Bill Riley Talent Search showcases the diverse abilities of Iowa's young people. Qualifying shows are held statewide, winners advance to the State Fair competition.

Got a green thumb? Enter some of your best flowers, vegetables, or plants in the open horticulture division.

Are you crafty? Why not enter your projects in our open home division.

Are you see things best through the lens of your camera? We want to see your best pictures. 

Does your young child what to experience showing? Our pre 4-H shows allow kids ages 5-8 to show.

Do you make the best burgers? The most delicious chicken? Out of this world pork? If so, we want you to enter the Farm Bureau's Cookout Contest!  
Give your kid a chance to use their pedal power!  Sunday at noon near the swine barn.  Register the day of the event, no pre - registration required.
Live on the Leonard Good Stage, random audience members will be selected to compete in the pie eating contest. Daily at noon.
Don't let the 4-Hers have all the fun! Join us Friday at 3pm in the show ring to try your luck at the wheel barrow race or hay bale throwing!
