The Open Division is just that, OPEN for anyone to participate. No entry fees!
If you need help entering, stop by the Fair office one of the following days/times and we will get you signed up!

OPEN CLASS—STATIC DEPARTMENTS
Home, Horticulture & Photography
Registration:
· All registration must be done in advance using Fair Entry. You can do it on your own at www.boonecountyfairia.com
· Fair Entry registration assistance will be offered two different evenings in July before the Fair. Please check the website for those days/times.
· If you *might* bring an item, please enter it. (It’s easier to not check-in a project that is already entered than it is to enter a brand new project into the system.)
· Check In will be Saturday from 8:30 m– 10:30am of Fair in the
Community Building
Open Static General Rules:
· Participates may enter two entries per class
· Judging will start at 11:00am on Saturday of the Fair.
· All exhibits must remain in place until pickup between 5 & 6 pm on Sunday of Fair.
Open Static General Rules continued...
· Participation open to anyone. (4-H/FFAers may enter, but not with a projected they exhibited in 4-H/FFA)
· All entries must be made/grown by the exhibitor
· All entries must have an entry tag on them (entry tags will be printed from the Fair Entry system and given to you at check in)
· The Fair Board & volunteers will not be responsible for any lost or damaged articles or for removing any exhibits. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up exhibits. Entries and premium money will be released no earlier than 5 p.m. on Sunday, Premium money provided by the Boone County Fair Board can be collected from the exhibit area of the Community Building. Unclaimed exhibits will be discarded at 6 p.m. and premium money will be returned to the Boone County Fair Board.
· Judging will occur starting at 11am. The judge will allow exhibitors to watch the judging. Questions may be asked as a learning tool. No harassment of the judge will be allowed or the exhibitor will be asked to leave.
· Decision of judges is final. Superintendents will disqualify any exhibit that does not meet the requirements of the class in which the exhibit is entered.
Awards
Each will get a blue, red or white award.
Top awards as listed below will be given to both senior and junior divisions.

Open Horticulture Area Rules
1. Specific divisions/classes can be found on the fairs website.
2. Names on the Exhibitor Tag should be to the variety (cultivar) when possible. Botanical (binomial scientific) names increase the plants value in judging.
3. Container grown plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for not less than two (2) months. The exception to that is of multiple planting which must have been grown together for at least six weeks. Must be moved out of plastic pots purchased in and planted in decorative containers. Double potting is permitted.
4. Specimens must be displayed in clear bottles supplied by the exhibitor unless noted behind division name. They should be in proportion to the size of the specimen. A small piece of wood, foam, or plastic wrap may be inconspicuously placed in the neck of the bottle to prop the specimen upright. Fruits and vegetables are to be exhibited on white disposable plates. Plates will be available at the registration table.
5. All entries should be clean and well groomed. Self-foliage should be included with specimen if it is naturally attached to the bloom stem, but no foliage should be below water level. No polishing or oiling of foliage is permitted. Plants with insect infestation may not be exhibited.

2. Photos shall have not been previously exhibited at the Boone Co. Fair.
